As of January-March 2012, Georgia's foreign trade turnover (excluding non-organised trade) amounted to $2.244 million, the Georgian Statistics Agency told Trend on Wednesday.
According to the information, this figure is 17 per cent more than the same period last year.
Exports totalled $539 million, by 16 per cent more and imports by $1.706 million, by 17 per cent more.
The negative trade balance in January-March amounted to $1.167 million, or 52 per cent of total turnover.
These are preliminary figures and the accurate data will be published on April 24.
