The Georgian parliament in the first hearing voted for a constitutional amendment under which the name of the Control Chamber will be changed and it will be renamed the State Audit Service. Some 112 deputies out of 150 voted for this decision.
The deputies agreed on this name as a result of discussions during the month. In the original draft the matter was the Supreme Chamber of audit and financial transparency.
As a result of the adoption of constitutional amendments, the chairman of the Control Chamber will be called "Auditor General".
