Iran to implement $11.5 billion in industrial, mineral projects

Around 300 industrial and mineral projects valued at about $11.5 billion will be implemented by the next calendar year on March 21, the industry, mine and trade minister reported today.

Mehdi Ghazanfari added that the projects, which are mainly in the fields of steel, cement, stone, food, chemical, automotive and textile industries, will create around 70,000 jobs, the IRNA News Agency reported.

He also said that $4.5 billion will be drawn out of the National Development Fund to complete semi-finished industrial projects.

Iran's mineral and industrial reached $30 billion in the past calendar year (March 19), according to the vice president for planning affairs.

Davood Manzoor told the IRNA News Agency that mineral and industrial exports from Iran were expanding and that global sanctions have not prevented the country from boosting exports.
