About 19.116 million tons of cargo was transported in Azerbaijan in January-April 2012, or 1.93 percent less than the same figure of 2011, the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee (SCC) said on Monday.
Exports of goods during this period amounted to 10.275 million tons, imports - 3.038 million tons.
Some 107,470 tons of cargo were exported by sea, 843,380 tons were exported by rail, 188,240 tons - by road, - 108,070 tons - air, and transportation by stationary vehicles amounted to 9.03 million tons.
Some 429,200 tons of cargo were imported by sea, 1.96 million tons by rail, 623,300 tons by road, 7,690 tons of cargo by air.
Over 5.8 million tons of cargo was transported by transit through the territory of Azerbaijan in January-April 2012.
