Some 16,000 kilometres of roads will be constructed in Kazakhstan, EBRD President Thomas Mirow said at the 25th plenary meeting of the Foreign Investors Council under the Kazakh President on Tuesday.

Theme of the meeting is 'Kazakhstan - international trade, logistics, business and financial hub'.

"Many roads and better quality are still needed to realise the set goals to create a hub and develop trade. The government intends to build additional 16,000 kilometres of roads," Mirow said.

He said 50 per cent of these roads will be built funded by private investments.
