A ceremony to launch the Balaken ferry, built for the Azerbaijan State Caspian Sea Shipping Company, will be held at the Croatian Uljanik shipyard on May 15, the company's spokesman Vugar Sadikhov told Trend on Monday.
The ceremony will be attended by a shipping company delegation headed by Aydin Bashirov.
A ceremony to launch the Barda ferry, built for the Azerbaijan State Caspian Sea Shipping Company was held at the Croatian Uljanik shipyard on Thursday, May 10.
Both ferries will arrive in the country by the end of the year.
In May 2011, a contract was signed between Azerbaijani and Croatian partners to build ferries under the 2+3 scheme. The right to order three more ferries Caspian Shipping Company reserves for itself.
