Car sales significantly increase in Kazakhstan in May

Car sales increased by 41 percent in Kazakhstan in May 2012 compared to the same period of 2011, Novosti-Kazakhstan reported with reference to Qncepto consulting company.

Car sales hit 7,372 (excluding light commercial vehicles) during this period.

In January- May car sales hit 27,612 (2.5 times increase compared to the same period of 2011).

"The top three best sellers hold their positions since the beginning of the year. However, the most successful brand Lada significantly increased its lead over rivals in May. Some 2,718 people in Kazakhstan bought cars of this brand during the reporting period. Thus, Lada sales increased by 3.1 compared to the results of the same period of 2011," the company said.

Hyundai with 797 cars sold in May ranked second in the sales (4.7 times more compared to May, 2011).

Toyota with 698 sold cars ranks third (62.7 percent increase in sales compared to May 2011).

UZ-Daewoo increased sales by 54.7 percent to 625 cars during the reporting period. This brand holds the fourth position in the best sellers rating.

KIA ranked fifth in the car sales in Kazakhstan in May. Some 505 cars of this brand were bought in Kazakhstan during this period (a 2.7-times increase in sales compared to the same period of 2011).

Other brands bought in Kazakhstan in May are Chevrolet (386 sold cars), Nissan (301 cars), ZAZ (285 cars), Mitsubishi (219 cars), SsangYong (170 cars).
