Russian major insurer opens representative office in Azerbaijan

A representative office of the Russian Soglasie insurance company has passed state registration in Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Taxes of Azerbaijan said on Tuesday.

The official representative is Emin Aslanov. The office passed the state registration with the tax authorities on June 19.

The company is already working with corporate clients in Azerbaijan and the main purpose of opening a representative office is to expand its activities in the country, Aslanov told Trend on Tuesday.

The Russian Soglasie insurance company has been operating successfully in the market in Russia for over 18 years. It offers more than 90 types of voluntary and compulsory insurance. The paid up authorised capital is 4.3 billion roubles.

Following the first quarter of 2012, the company has retained a strong growth in key financial indicators. Total insurance premiums on compulsory and voluntary insurance contracts amounted to over 7.9 billion roubles, exceeding the figure of collection of premiums for the same period in 2011 by 39 per cent. The total amount of insurance payments amounted to 3.7 billion roubles.

The company's partners for reinsurance are Hannover Re, Munich Re, Swiss Re, SCOR, and other highly reliable firms. In 2012, the reinsurance capacity of the company was increased to 3.825 billion roubles which allow it to leave on its own holding, major risks of clients.

An extensive sales network comprising over 700 units: 88 offices in Moscow, 77 branches, 231 agencies, 171 remote workstations and 136 additional offices in the Russian regions, allows the company to carry out insurance protection of the property interests of clients virtually throughout the country.
