Kazakhstan, Astana, July 10 / Trend, D.Mukhtarov /

A change has been observed on the global grain market, Kazakh Farming and Crop Sector Department Director Anna Buts said on Tuesday.

"In the June report of the International Grains Council, the global wheat production forecast for 2012-2013 was 665 million tons, or 6 million tons less than the May forecast and 30 million less than last season," she underscored.

She said the reduction in the forecast is due to the expected decline in production in the EU, Australia, Argentina, Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan due to dry weather conditions.

Therefore, as predicted by Russian Agriculture Ministry, the grain harvest this year is estimated at 85 million tons, or 10 million less than the level of 2011. In Ukraine, harvest may drop to 43-44 million tons in 2012, which is 10-12 million tons less than last year.
