Over 28.88 million tons of cargo was transported in Azerbaijan in January-June 2012, or 4.26 percent less than the same figure of 2011, the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee (SCC) said on Thursday.
Exports of goods during this period amounted to 15.64 million tons, imports - 4.61 million tons.
Some 155,320 tons of cargo were exported by sea, 1.42 million tons were exported by rail, 293,260 tons - by road, 108,860 tons - air, and transportation by stationary vehicles amounted to 13.66 million tons.
Some 667,100 tons of cargo were imported by sea, 2.89 million tons by rail, over one million tons by road, 12,490 tons of cargo by air.
Over 8.64 million tons of cargo was transported by transit through the territory of Azerbaijan in January-June 2012.
