Construction share in GDP to significantly increase

The share of construction projects in the Azerbaijani GDP will increase in coming years, the managing director of Pasha Construction Randolph Decker said today.

"New oil and gas contracts are being concluded," he said. "This will require an appropriate infrastructure - new offices, hotels and other buildings. This will significantly increase the construction volumes in the country."

He added that Baku will increase significantly and change in the next five or six years.

"Baku's construction sector is very attractive and develops dynamically," he said.

The share was 9.6 percent (3.4 billion manat) in January-August.
The official exchange rate is 0.7853 AZN/USD on Sept. 18.
