The second international cotton exhibition fair in Turkmenistan will take place in the Sergi Koshgi exhibition palace in Ashgabat on November 24-25, Turkmenpagta reported on Monday.
The State commodity and raw materials exchange of Turkmenistan and State Chamber of Commodity and Industry are among exhibition organizers.
'Turkmenpagta' is operating as production and agricultural complex, providing development and forming of general directions of Turkmenistan's cotton industry.
Holding of a conference on actual issues of cotton and textile industry development is planned within the exhibition. A special attention will be given to promotion of local cotton production on world markets and research and investments in cotton production sector and cotton industry of Turkmenistan.
Meetings on the issues of long term cooperation with international organizations and companies-the final consumers of cotton production will be held in the framework of the event.

Cotton is planted in 5 regions in Turkmenistan : Akhal, Mari, Lebap, Dashoghuz and Balkan. Cotton harvesting is held from August to October.
Medium staple cotton of Upland kind is planted in all regions, long staple cotton of Pima kind - in Akhal and Mari regions. Cotton production is sold through The Chamber of Commodities and Industry.
The cotton harvesting campaign in the country was launched in August, 1 million 109 thousand tons of raw material are planned to be collected from 550 thousand hectares this year.
Turkmen president Gurbanguli Berdimuhamedow has demanded steps on acceleration of cotton harvesting and its successful completion in timely manner and without loss.
Around 1 million 100 thousand tons of cotton was collected last year. The country traditionally exports raw materials to China, Russia, Great Britain, South Korea, Turkey, Iran, Indonesia, Singapore, Ukraine and Baltics.
