The Agriculture Minister Ismet Abbasov and director of International Vine and Wine organization Federico Castelucci have discussed the prospects of cooperation development in wine and vine field within a meeting, the ministry report said on Monday.
The minister noted that the country government has approved the proposal of Agriculture Ministry to join the International organization of Vine and Wine and internal procedures are currently being carried out in this direction.
According to the minister, the activity in winemaking and viticulture field in Azerbaijan is going to be implemented in accordance with world standards following joining the organization in the framework of cooperation development between Azerbaijan and the organization.
Castelluci noted that in its turn the organization will assist Azerbaijan in science and methodology of winemaking and viticulture, as well as in quality increase of grape varieties in order to develop the sector.
