Kazakh National Maritime Shipping Company Kazmortransflot (100-percent subsidiary of Kazakhstan's national oil and gas company KazMunaiGas) is planning to increase the tanker fleet in the Black Sea, a source in the company told Trend on Monday.

"According to our strategy, we develop our tanker fleet in the Black Sea and in the Mediterranean Sea. If KazMunaiGas increases the export of oil in this area, and we receive the support of our sole shareholder in the project then we will acquire tankers" the source said.

Kazmortransflot bought two types of Aframax oil tankers with a deadweight 115,000 tons each in 2011.

"These tankers operate in the Black Sea and expand transportation of Kazakh oil since December," the source said.

The source noted that the project on creation and increase of the Kazakh tanker fleet in the Black Sea is implemented within the strategy of KazMunaiGas to create an established scheme of exploration and production of oil and its delivery to the final consumer in the world mar
