Kazakhstan increases cargo turnover in Jan.-Sep

Kazakhstan increased cargo turnover by 11.3 percent in January-September 2012 compared to the same period of 2011, Novosti-Kazakhstan reported with the reference Kazakh Statistics Agency.

Total cargo turnover in this period hit 346.790 billion ton-kilometers.

Transshipment via railways increased by 9.2 percent, via vehicles - by 22.7 percent, via pipelines - by 5 percent in this period.

The total volume of cargo transshipped hit 2.289 billion tons in Kazakhstan in January-September 2012 (14.7 percent more than the same period of 2011).

Meanwhile, the total amount of passenger traffic increased by 17.6 percent in the reporting period to 13.634 billion people.

Passenger traffic by railways increased by 20.7 percent, by vehicles - 17.6 percent, by air - by 12.7 percent.
