Cases of unorganized mass point construction have decreased in Baku. This was stated by the Chairman of Azerbaijani State Committee for Town Planning and Architecture Abbas Alasgarov during his speech at XXXIV session of the CIS Intergovernmental Council for Cooperation in the Construction Industry in Baku.

"The detailed plan of the central part of Baku ( over 1500 hectares) has been developed, which clearly defines its transport development, landscaping, future development of housing and social infrastructure, including regulated density and the height of the buildings," Alasgarov said.

In his words, thus, each square meter of land has been planned.

Alasgarov noted that the project has been considered by public and published for introduction on the website of the State Committee for Town Planning and Architecture

According to him, within the last 10-12 years, the development of Azerbaijan has significantly raised the significance of integrated assessment of land, the coordinated use of land, large-scale, both national and regional planning and use of land.

"Realizing the importance of the problem, Azerbaijani government started the work on the' Regional Development Plan of Greater Baku' project in 2009."This project will provide an opportunity to direct the process of urban planning to the science-based, rational, coordinated field," Alasgarov added.
