Kazakhstan's foreign trade turnover increased by 13.5 per cent despite a slowdown in sectors of the economy during the first eight months of 2012, the country's Economic Development and Trade Minister Erbolat Dosayev said at a government meeting on Tuesday.
"Foreign trade turnover increased 13.5 per cent during first eight months of 2012 despite a certain slowdown in sectors of the economy. Exports of goods increased by 9.3 per cent, imports by 24.1 per cent," Dosayev said.
He said the trade surplus amounted to $34.2 billion.
