Georgian government sharply reduces Presidential Reserve Fund’s financing

Financing from the Georgian Presidential Reserve Fund will drop from 50 million lari to 10 million lari ($ 1 = 1.66 lari), the Georgian draft state budget said today.

However, financing from the Georgian government's reserve fund headed by Bidzina Ivanishvili will not be changed. It still amounts to 50 million lari.

Moroever, the expenditure of the Georgian presidential administration are being reduced from 14.160 million lari to 9.230 million lari.

Around 1.8 million lari instead of 24.784 million lari were allocated to subsidize the national security office within the draft state budget for 2013.

The national security policy measures were not indicated. Around 23 million lari were allocated from the budget in 2012.

Earlier, Georgian Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili said he will cut funding of the presidential administration and the National Security Service.

"They spend a lot of money, and mainly in improper direction," he said.

The legislative body will begin discussing the draft state budget for 2013 this week.
