Kazakhstan decreased crude steel production by 19.4 percent in January-October 2012 compared to the same period of 2011 to 3.31 million tons, Novosti-Kazakhstan reported with the reference to the Kazakh Statistics Agency.
Ferroalloys production reached 1.430 million tons in the reporting period (2 percent increase), production of flat rolled products hit 2.148 million tons (15.1 percent decrease), galvanized steel production hit 430.248 tons (17.2 percent decrease).
Kazakhstan's iron ore production remained at the level of 43.534 million tons in the reporting period.
Copper extraction increased by 11.8 percent to 31.578 million tons.
Kazakhstan also increased coal production by 3.7 percent in the reporting period. Kazakhstan's coal, including coal concentrate production hit 97.491 million tons in January-October.
