Steel production falls by 21 percent in Kazakhstan in Jan.-Nov.

Kazakhstan decreased steel production by 21 percent in January-November 2012 compared to the same period of 2011, Novosti-Kazakhstan reported with the reference to the Kazakh Statistics Agency.

Crude steel production hit 3.553 million tons in this period.

Ferroalloys production reached 1.577 million tons in the reporting period (2.9 percent increase), production of flat rolled products hit 2.253 million tons (18.2 percent decrease), galvanized steel production hit 451,665 tons (20 percent decrease).

Production of tin plate and tinned rolled steel in the country in the reporting period amounted to 131,539 tons (30.5 percent decrease).

Coal, including coal concentrate production in Kazakhstan in January-November 2012 hit 109.414 million tons (4.4 percent increase).
