Azerbaijani foreign trade surplus exceeds $13 billion

The Azerbaijani State Customs Committee announced about reduction in the volume of foreign trade operations by 7.88 percent in Jan.-Nov. 2012 compared to the same period of last year, the Committee told Trend on Wednesday. Around 154 world countries were Azerbaijan's foreign trade partners for the period.

The Azerbaijani State Customs Committee announced about reduction in the volume of foreign trade operations by 7.88 percent in Jan.-Nov. 2012 compared to the same period of last year, the Committee told Trend on Wednesday. Around 154 world countries were Azerbaijan's foreign trade partners for the period.

The total volume of trade turnover of the country amounted to $30.54 billion.

The surplus worth $13.65 billion was formed in foreign trade operations.

Around 8,255 legal and physical entities were involved in foreign trade operations over this period, of which 3,748 are legal entities and 4,507 physical entities.

The export operations totaled $22.094 billion for eleven months of 2012, or 10.34 percent less compared to the same period of 2011.

The share of public sector in exports totaled $20.817 billion (94.2 percent), private - $1.066 million (4.8 percent), the share of physical entities - $210.8 million (0.95 percent).

As of January-November 2012, imports amounted to $8.444 billion, or 0.76 percent more compared to the same period of 2011.

The share of public sector in import operations amounted to $1.818 billion (21.53 percent), private sector - $6.284 billion (74.41 percent) and physical entities - $341.799 million (4.05 percent).

As of January-November, 2,196 goods were exported from Azerbaijan, while 6,279 goods were imported.
