Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan discuss cooperation prospects in production and processing areas

A delegation led by Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister Krymbek Kusherbaev has arrived to Azerbaijan, the government told Trend on Wednesday.

The two-day visit including Kazakh government and business organisation representatives, started on January 9. The purpose of the visit is to discuss possibilities of expanding bilateral cooperation and other issues of mutual interest and to become familiar with the activities of the Azerbaijani production and processing enterprises in agriculture and industry.

Today the Kazakh delegation plans to visit the agricultural product processing enterprise Zehmet-Ruzi in Khirdalan and Sumgayit industrial park. Visits to see the work of the greenhouse complex Green Tech in the village of Bina, as well as enterprises operating in Gabala are planned for the second day.

A meeting of Kusherbayev with Azerbaijani Prime Minister Artur Rasizade is currently being held and meetings with the Economic Development Minister Shahin Mustafayev and Agriculture Minister Ismet Abbasov are also planned.

According to Azerbaijani State Customs Committee, in January-September last year, trade turnover between the two countries exceeded $260 million compared $179 million in the same period of the previous year and $275 million in 2011.
