Over 39,000 tax legislation violators revealed in Azerbaijan in 2012

The Azerbaijani Taxes Ministry conducted operational control measures in 2012 which revealed that around 39,125 taxpayers violated tax legislation. The total number had increased by 53 per cent for the last quarter of last year.

The Azerbaijani Taxes Ministry conducted operational control measures in 2012 which revealed that around 39,125 taxpayers violated tax legislation. The total number had increased by 53 per cent for the last quarter of last year.

According to the ministry, around 19,279 taxpayers (49.3 per cent) have violated the rules of cash payments, 10.6 per cent (4013 taxpayers) received foreign currency while paying, exchanging, purchasing or selling operations at trade facilities, public catering and rendering services, 9.04 per cent (3536 taxpayers) operated without registering at the tax bodies and 14.4 per cent (5803 taxpayers) worked without permission.

Around 4,133 taxpayers employed 7,027 physical entities. They were involved in the work, without concluding any employment contract.

Around 1670 taxpayers dealt with passenger transportation without getting any insignia. Around 691 taxpayers had 10,448 goods without proper labelling.
