Despite the global crisis, Turkmenistan did not exclude any construction project from the adopted program, Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said at a government meeting on Saturday.
"Despite some difficulties caused by the global financial and economic crisis, we did not exclude any construction facility from the adopted program," the Turkmen president said. "We did not reduce any programs to resolve social and domestic problems."
He added that some 397 large facilities worth over $ 5 billion were commissioned in 2012.
The new gas turbine stations, several new industrial enterprises, railway stations, bridges, modern residential building complexes of the National Institute of Sports and Tourism, the State Oil and Gas University, the facilities of Avaza national tourist zone and food complexes are among them.
The modern houses with luxury apartments, recreational and entertainment centers and many other social and domestic facilities are among built and commissioned in 2012.
Last year, a record number of education facilities were commissioned for the first time during the years of independence. Around 36 secondary schools equipped with multimedia technologies, 25 sports schools and 48 kindergartens were among them.
