Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) will await a final decision on the 787 Dreamliner aircraft, produced by Boeing, a source in AZAL told Trend today.
The European Aviation Safety Agency after the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration has banned flights of the Dreamliner. Japanese airlines All Nippon Airways and Japan Airlines were the first to stop using the aircraft. The problems with the aircraft were observed in early 2013.
Boeing 787 aircraft production has been temporarily stopped until the Commission carries out its checks and resolves the problems.
AZAL said that it has ordered the aircraft from 2014 and by then the problems will be resolved.
Azerbaijan Airlines has an order to purchase two Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. The cost of each is $90 million. The country will be the first in Central Asia to receive these aircraft.
