The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will finance the acquisition of 200 buses for Kazakh city of Almaty, the city administration said on Wednesday.
Today the EBRD and Kazakh state enterprise Almatyelectrotrans signed a $39.3 million loan agreement for the purchase of 200 new buses running on gas.
The loan maturity is 10 years.
The EBRD has already financed a number of social projects in the city of Almaty: the purchase of 195 new trolley buses, modernization of traction substations and creation of the first municipal bus fleet.
