Turkey’s tourism revenues increase in 2012

Turkey's tourism revenues in 2012 increased by 1.8 per cent reaching $23.4 billion compared to the same period in 2011, the Turkish Statistics Institute's report said on Thursday.

Tourism revenues increased by 17.2 per cent reaching $6.1 billion in the fourth quarter of 2012 compared to the same period in 2011. According to the information, some 75.1 per cent of tourism revenue came from foreign tourists.

The number of tourists increased by 1.7 per cent reaching 36.7 million in Turkey in 2012 compared to 2011.

The number of tourists increased by 3.5 per cent reaching 7.6 million in the fourth quarter of 2012 compared to the same period in 2011.
