In 2012, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has increased the volume of loans granted to Turkey by five percent compared to the previous year, Anadolu agency reported.
It was reported that last year Turkey received loans worth 2.14 billion euros from the EBRD. Thus, Turkey became the bank's seventh largest client amongst European countries.
The allocated loan was directed mainly to the private sector - infrastructure projects, projects in the field of science and technology.
It was also reported that the total amount of loans allocated to Turkey by EBRD within five years reached 11.4 billion euros.
Last year, the bank granted a total of 51.8 billion euros, mainly to EU member states.
