Azerbaijan, Baku, Feb. 22 / Trend I. Izzet /

Azerbaijan's GDP will reach $130-140 billion by 2020 compared to $7 billion in 2003, chairman of the parliamentary committee on economic policy Ziyad Samadzade said at the conference 'National Leader Heydar Aliyev - 90' on Thursday.

He said that Azerbaijan in terms of GDP per capita was inferior to such countries as Ukraine, Georgia, Moldova, Uzbekistan, Belarus and Armenia in 1990s, but now our country is far ahead of them.

Samadzade said there is a goal to increase the volume of GDP per capita to $13,000 by 2020 compared to $898 in 2003. He said the state budget will reach $45 billion by then compared to $1 billion in 2003.

"Where can one see such a trend?" He asked. "Sometimes it is associated with the oil and gas reserves in Azerbaijan, but the country's success is not associated with hydrocarbon resources."
