Eight light industry enterprises commissioned in Uzbekistan

Uzbekyengilsanoat (Uzbek light industry) State Joint Stock Company commissioned eight enterprises worth $16.131 million in the first quarter of 2013, a representative of the company told Trend on Friday.

According to the interlocutor, the enterprises' capacity are designed to produce 4,500 tons of cotton yarn, 180,000 meters of fabric, 1.2 tons of knitted fabric, 3.3 million pairs of hosiery and 7.9 million pieces of finished products per year.

The projects were financed by $5.516 million worth of enterprise funds, bank loans amounting to $8.875 million and foreign investments worth $ 1.7 million.

Uzbekyengilsanoat plans to set up 30 enterprises worth more than $ 200 million by late 2013.

Some 101 enterprises with foreign investments worth $ 506.2 million were established in the country in 2009-2012.

Some 29 textile companies worth more than $ 160 million were commissioned in the country in 2012. They were established by using foreign direct investments from Singaporese, Korean, Indian, Russian and Swiss companies.
