Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev met with the head of Kazakh railways (Kazakhstan Temir Zholy) Askar Mamin in Bishkek on Wednesday, the presidential press-service reported.
The parties discussed the issues of bilateral cooperation in the field of railway transport, increasing bilateral turnover and goods transit, the Kazakh railways said.
Moreover, within the meeting the parties discussed an alternative project of planning railroad which will run from Kyrgyzstan to China.
Following the meeting the Kyrgyz President ordered Transport and Communications Minister Kalykbek Sultanov and head of Kyrgyz railways Argynbek Malabayev to discuss all the possible versions of this project with Kazakh partners.
