Australian Great Western Exploration Ltd. ("GTE") will start drilling works at its Spasskaya field in Kazakhstan next week, the company reported.

"The company has received notice that ground conditions are now suitable for the movement of heavy vehicles and access can be gained to most areas with the conditions improving daily as temperatures are increasing and now averaging in the low 20's degree resulting in the remnants of the spring season snow melt quickly dissipating," GTE said.

As a result of the improved conditions, the company approved the mobilization of a diamond drill rig and a reverse circulation ("RC") drill rig onto site next week to start drilling.

Spasskaya consists of 12,500 square kilometers of a highly prospective but underexplored historical mineral field for base and precious metal mineralization that has already been demonstrated with over 350 known occurrences and 8 known copper deposits that have historical resources that require Joint Ore Reserves Committee conversion and confirmation.

Great Western Exploration Limited is earning a 50 percent interest in the Spasskaya Project which is the company's flagship project. Moreover it holds 100 percent interest in four highly prospective gold and base metal projects, totaling 4,500 square kilometers in Western Australia. The Company also holds a minority, non-contributing 49 percent joint venture interest in the Mt Gibb Nickel Sulphide and Gold Project in Western Australia where JV partner Western Areas NL is actively exploring to earn up to 70 percent.
