Volume of off-exchange deals in Azerbaijan increased significantly in May

In May 2013 the National Depository Center (NDC) under the State Securities Committee of Azerbaijan registered 415 stock-exchange deals on the sale of shares in the amount of 32.02 million manats at par value, the statement released on the Center's website said on Saturday.
In May, the Depository Center registered 30 off-exchange deals in the amount of 9.48 million manats at par value and 30 deals on the additional emission of 37.08 million manats at par value.
The off-exchange deals volume in May has increased by more than 53 times, for comparison in April 2013 NDC registered 38 deals to the amount of 177.39 manats.
In annual terms, the volume of transactions increased by 3,06 times (in May 2012, 340 deals worth of 10.43 million manats were registered), the volume of off-exchange deals decreased by 63.9 percent (60 deals on 26.26 million manat in May 2012), and the volume of deals on the additional emission increased by 2.2 times (16 transactions at 16.78 million manats in May 2012).
The NDC was established on September 18, 1997. The founder and owner of all shares of the Center was the State Committee on Property Issues of Azerbaijan Republic.
After the establishment of the State Committee for Securities (SCS) the NDC's shares were transferred to its ownership. In this regard, the NDC has been re-established by the SCS on September 8, 1999 and passed the state registration on September 17, 1999.
