Georgia's GDP growth amounted to 2.4 percent in the first quarter of 2013, Georgian Statistics Service told Trend on Monday.
According to the agency, the deflation rate in the country during the reporting period increased by 0.4 percent.
In the sectoral composition of the GDP of Georgia in the first quarter of this year came the largest share belongs to industry (17.3 percent) and trade (16.3 percent).
A growth was also recorded in the following industries: communications (7.9 percent), trade
(6.8 percent), agriculture, fish farming (6.7 percent), financial activities (6.5 percent), mining (5.9 percent), real estate operations, leasing and maintenance of the population (5.2 percent) , processing industry (5.1 percent).
Slower growth was observed in construction (nine per cent), manufacturing, and distribution of electric power, gas and water (1.7 percent) and the transport sector (0.6 per cent).
