Iran will start pumping 12.5 million cubic meters of gas from South Par gas field's phases 15 and 16 to the national gas network by the end of the week, the managing director of Pars Oil And Gas Company said on Tuesday.
Mohammad Reza Zahiri rejected the rumors about the inauguration of the phases' gas sweetening facility while it was still incomplete, the IRNA News Agency reported.
Iran's Former President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad officially inaugurated the gas sweetening facility of South Pars Gas field's phases 15 and 16 on July 31.
Once all the phases of the mentioned gas sweetening facility come on stream it would be able to pump 50 million cubic meters per day to national gas network.
So far $5 billion has been invested in phases 15 and 16.
The former managing director of Pars Oil & Gas Company warned on July 22 that hasty inauguration of giant South Pars Gas field's phases may lead into undesirable accidents.
