Tender announced with WB project in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijani Social Fund for Development of Internally Displaced Persons announced tender for purchase of services for repair of public premises within World Bank (WB) project for improvement of living conditions and increase of incomes of internally displaced persons in the country, according to the Fund's message posted in official press on Wednesday.

According to the message, the tender includes two lots:

- Repair of the hostel No.3 of Azerbaijani State Economic University in Darnagul settlement, Binagadi district, Baku;

- Repair of the hostel of Agdash State Humanitarian College (Agdash, st. Heydar Aliyev, 67).

According to the message, participation fee in the tender is 50 (fifty) manat. Tender proposals should be submitted to the Fund till September 16, 2013, 18:00, at the address: Baku, Tbilisi Avenue, 57D.

This is the third project in the sphere of improvement of IDPs welfare in Azerbaijan. The project was approved in 2011 and is financed at the expenses of resources of International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD is the part of WB Group).

The government's participation share in the project amounts to $28.5 million and WB - $50 million. Thus, the total volume of project financing amounts to $78.5 million. The agreement on this loan was signed on November 16, 2011.

Nearly 200 microprojects will be implemented within it, which will involve around 120,000-150,000 people. The project will also contribute to improvement of living conditions of nearly 30,000 people. Approximately 1,400 young people will be able to participate in vocational training and get grants to start their own business.

In addition, nearly 1,500 microcredits will be given to IDPs to start or expand their own business.

In total, nearly 185,000 IDPs in Azerbaijan will get greater access to the infrastructure, services and will be able to improve their living conditions and earning potential.

The official exchange rate on August 24 is 0.7843 AZN/USD.
