Italy remains largest importer of Azerbaijani products

Italy remains the largest importer of Azerbaijani products. Almost a quarter of Azerbaijan's export fell to Italy in January-July compared to 22 per cent in the same period of 2012. Export to Italy increased by almost 10 per cent and hit $3.41 billon in a year, according to a report from Azerbaijani State Customs Committee.

In total, currently around 47.57 per cent of Azerbaijan's export fall to the countries of European Union (EU), about 5.78 per cent - to CIS countries and 46.65 per cent - to other countries. Export to EU amounted to $6.6 billion in January-July, 2013, which exceeds the figure in the same period of 2012 by 1.62 per cent. Export to CIS - $0.8 billion (increase by 29.77 per cent), other countries - $6.47 billion (decrease by 7.28 per cent).

Azerbaijan carried out about $13.86 billion worth of export operations in January-July, which is 1.55 per cent lower compared to the same period of 2012
