Georgia’s imports from Azerbaijan exceeds $370 million since early 2013

Georgia imported goods worth $372.57 million from Azerbaijan in January-August 2013, the Georgian Statistics Service's report on foreign trade said today.

According to the report, the volume of imports from Azerbaijan to Georgia for the period decreased by 10 per cent compared to the same period last year. By comparison, Georgia imported Azerbaijani goods worth $413.96 million in January-August 2012.

Azerbaijan ranks fourth in the list of countries importing products to Georgia. The weight of Azerbaijani imports in a total volume of goods imported into the country is 7.6 per cent.

Georgia imports most goods from Turkey. The volume of Georgian imports from Turkey totalled $829.24 million in January-August 2013, or 17 per cent of the total import volume.

Georgia imported goods worth $ 4.88 billion in January-August 2013, or by 4.3 per cent less than in the same period of 2012.
