Number of appeals to credit registry up over twofold in Azerbaijan

Some 196,204 appeals were received by the Central Credit Register Service under the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) in August 2013, the CBA's statistics report published on its website said on Thursday.

According to the report, the number of the appeals to the service increased by 2.22 times compared to the same period of 2012 (88,321 appeals).

In August, the credit register service received 195,758 requests from banks and 446 people appealed to obtain credit reports.

As of late August the number of borrowers whose data is included in the credit register service, was 1,808,031 and the total number of credit data was 5,655,490.

The number of data on guarantors available in the register service is 665,467.

The Central Credit Register Service has been operating since March, 2005.

The rate of a single query for a physical entity is 1.1 manat, for a legal entity two manat. The Credit Register Service does not have commercial goals and the tariffs are imposed for covering administrative expenditure.

The official exchange rate is 0, 7845 AZN/USD on October 3.
