Azerbaijani market remains prominent for Georgian exports

Over a quarter of Georgian exports accounted for Azerbaijan in January - September 2013, the Georgian Statistics Agency's report on foreign trade said today.

According to the report, goods worth $528.9 million were exported from Georgia to Azerbaijan in January -September 2013, or 26.2 per cent of the country's total export volume during the period.

Exports to Azerbaijan increased by 12.94 per cent compared to the same period of 2012. By comparison, Georgian goods worth $468.31 million were exported to Azerbaijan in January- September last year.

Armenia ranks second in this index.

Georgian goods worth $223.33 million (11.1 per cent of a total export volume), were exported to this country in January- September 2013.

Turkey ranks third in the export volume of Georgian goods worth $135.99 million or 6.7 per cent of Georgia's total export volume in January - September 2013.

Georgia's exported products were worth $2.02 billion in January- September 2013, or by 14.12 per cent more than in the same period of 2012.
