Kazakhstan completes construction of ferroalloy plant

By Daniar Mukhtarov - Trend: Kazakhstan plans to complete construction of the Aktobe Ferroalloy Plant this year, akim (governor) of the Aktobe oblast (province) Arkhimed Mukhambetov said on November 8 at a briefing held at the Central Communications Service under the president of Kazakhstan.

"This year we plan to commission 10 projects as part of the state programme on an accelerated industrial and innovative development. The largest among them is the fourth factory of the Aktobe Ferroalloy Plant worth $840 million," the governor said.

He recalled that the construction is being conducted by JSC Kazkhrom.

The plant's capacities amount to 440,000 tons of high-carbon ferrochrome.

"The construction of the convector plant having the capacity of 60,000 tons of medium-carbon ferrochrome per year, will begin next year," Mukhambetov said.
