Two plants, "Caspian bitumen" and "Caspian cement" will built in the Mangistau region of Kazakhstan by the end of the year, the akim (governor) of Mangistau region Alik Aidarbayev said in Astana today.

"By the end of the year, we plan to complete two major projects related to the construction of "Caspian bitumen" and "Caspian cement" with a total estimated cost of 83.5 billion tenge ($ 1 - 153.08 tenge) and the creation of 600 permanent jobs," Aidarbayev said at a briefing in the Central Communication Service under the Kazakh President today.

According to him, nine projects with an estimated cost of 65.1 billion tenge and the creation of more than 3,000 new jobs are planned to be completed in the next years.

According to the information, around 13 percent of the country's industrial output is produced in the region. The industrial production volume increased by 1.3 times and amounted to 2.17 trillion tenge for the past three years.

Around 1.7 trillion tenge of industrial output were produced this year. The physical volume index was 101.7 percent. The manufacturing output increased by 20.7 percent.

In general, Mangistau region is in the top three in the country in terms of investment volume per capita. The figure was 698,000 tenge in 2012 or 2 times more than average.
