The production of Toyota Fortuner cars in Kazakhstan (Kostanai province, North Kazakhstan) will focus only on the Kazakh market, a member of the board of directors of Agromashholding and Sari-Arka Automobile Industry Andrei Lavrentiev told Trend on Dec.20.
"We expect the start of production of Toyota Fortuner cars in mid-2014, closer to summer, but these cars will be produced in accordance with the decision of Toyota Corporation management only for the Kazakh market and not for export in order to saturate our Kazakh market," Lavrentiev said.
Nearly 10 percent of cars produced by Kazakhstan are purchased by the government and ministries, according to Lavrentiev.
"It is a great support for us," Lavrentiev said.
