Iran names leading trade partners in 5 continents

The United Arab Emirates was the main Asian exporter of goods to Iran in the first nine months of the current Iranian calendar year, which started on March 21, 2013, the ISNA News Agency reported on Jan. 6.

Iran imported $6.955 billion worth of goods from the UAE in the mentioned period.

Switzerland with $1.713 billion, Brazil with $194 million, Australia with $73 million, and Kenya with $9 million were the main exporters of goods to Iran in their respective continents.

The United Arab Emirates, China, India, South Korea, and Turkey were the main five exporters of goods to Iran.

Iran trades with 105 countries.

Press TV reported on Jan. 1 that the volume of non-oil trade exchanges between Iran and UAE reached $9.637 billion during the first three quarters of the current Iranian calendar year.

According to the latest data released by the Iranian Customs Administration, Iran exported $2.682 billion worth of non-oil commodities to the UAE during the nine-month period, marking a 35.81 percent rise in weight and a 21.27 percent decline in value compared to the corresponding period last year. The non-oil exports weighed 4.342 million tons.

Iran also imported $6,955 billion worth of non-oil products weighing 3.852 million tons in the first nine months of the current Iranian calendar year. The figures show a 26.40 percent decline in weight and a 12.81 percent fall in value.

Iran earned $29,241 billion from exporting non-oil commodities in the first nine months of the current Iranian calendar year.

Iran exported iron ore valued at $1,033 billion, methanol, also known as methyl alcohol, valued at $877 million and urea valued at USD 866 million during the nine-month period.

The three commodities were Iran's main export products, excluding gas condensate and petrochemicals.

Iran also exported $6,363 billion of gas condensate, $8,116 billion of petrochemical products, and $14,761 billion of other goods.

China, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, India, and Afghanistan were the main importers of non-oil products from Iran.

Iran imported $1,764 billion of rice, $1,261 billion of soy meal, $915 million of corn, $869 million of wheat, and $794 million of vehicles in the first nine months of the current Iranian calendar year.
