Turkmenistan announces volume of planned investments in construction industry

Turkmenistan plans to raise about $41billion in the construction industry in 2014 with the help of national and foreign investments, a source in Turkmen government's circles told Trend.

"Some $16 billion out of this amount will be raised by domestic construction companies," he said.

The production and technology industries, as before, will continue to remain a priority for investment in the country, according to the source.

Industrial and socio-cultural facilities worth over $13 billion were commissioned last year in Turkmenistan with the help of all financing sources.

The commissioned facilities include - a complex of factories and ground infrastructure at Galkynysh gas field, a cement plant with annual capacity of one million tons, gas turbine power plant with over 140 megawatts of capacity, as well as, about 500 kilometres of railroads, four major road bridges, two of them spanning the Amu Darya river, office buildings and a five star hotel in Ashgabat, hotels and entertainment venues in the 'Avaza' national tourist zone and a number of other objects.
