New road bridge commissioned on Azerbaijani-Iranian border

Baku, Azerbaijan, Feb.14
By Temkin Jafarov - Trend:

A new road bridge over the River Araz at the Julfa border checkpoint on the Azerbaijani-Iranian border has been commissioned, Iranian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mohsun Pakayin told Trend on Feb.14.

The decision on commissioning this bridge was adopted as a result of the three-day discussions, according to the ambassador.

Trucks over 30 tons will be able to travel across the bridge, the ambassador said.
Cars will be able to use this bridge for passage and the old bridge is open for pedestrians, Pakayin stressed.

Previously the Iranian side informed the relevant structures of both countries that the passage of trucks with a tonnage of over 30 tons would not be permitted due to ineffectiveness of the old bridge over River Araz at Julfa border
