Baku, Azerbaijan, March 6
By Emil Ismayilov - Trend:

Member states of the international cooperation programme in transport, TRACECA (Europe-Caucasus-Asia) can present their investment projects during the Astana economic forum to be held in Kazakhstan's capital on May 21-23, TRACECA national secretary from Azerbaijan Akif Mustafayev told Trend on March 5.

Earlier, in 2011 and 2012, two investment forums under TRACECA were held with the support of the EU at which the member states were able to present their investment transport projects, according to Mustafayev. Kazakhstan put forward an initiative to hold the next forum within the annual economic conference in Astana.

"Investment forums were held twice in Brussels, but this time at the initiative of the Kazakh side, the investment projects can be presented in May in Astana," Mustafayev said.
The main purpose of holding investment forums is to attract financiers to participate in the projects of TRACECA member states.

TRACECA is an international cooperation programme covering transport between the EU and its partner countries in Eastern Europe, South Caucasus and Central Asia. The organisation has a permanent secretariat in Baku.

Currently, the TRACECA member states are Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Moldova, Romania, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Iran.
