Kazakhstan, Bahrain to cooperate in aluminum production sphere

Kazakhstan and Bahrain have signed a memorandum on cooperation in the aluminum production sphere during the business forum titled "Bahrain-Kazakhstan: strategic partnership" that is being held in Kazakhstan today.

From the Kazakh side, the memorandum was signed by the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Industry and New Technologies, Aset Isekeshev and from the Bahraini side it was signed by the country's Minister of Industry and Commerce, Hassan Bin Abdulla Fakhro.

"We need to find more opportunities for establishing friendly trade relations. Despite the differences, our countries have a lot of similar features. Our countries' economy depends on natural resources and we share many common positions in the international arena," Bahrain's minister of industry and commerce said during the forum.

Kazakhstan's deputy prime minister for his part, recalled that Bahrain processes aluminum and Kazakhstan has large reserves and it produces some 250,000 tons of metallic aluminum.

"We have a task of processing aluminum. We are ready to create a special subzone on aluminum processing in Pavlodar," Isekeshev said.

Kazakh deputy prime minister added that the priority spheres for Kazakhstan for the next five years include metal processing, production of finished products from them, engineering, refining and petrochemistry, production of construction materials. Large programs on tourism and geological exploration will also be implemented.

"I think, we should create the whole infrastructure for cooperation during the visit. We are ready to support your and your initiatives on cooperation in economy," Isekeshev said.
