Turkmenistan plans to sign another contract with Boeing company

The State National Service of Turkmenistan, Turkmenhowayollary (Turkmen Airlines) has been authorized to sign a contract with the U.S. Boeing company to buy three Boeing 737-800 planes, according to the decree signed by Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

At the same time, it is planned to sign a contract with Boeing company to sell three Boeing 737-300 planes, according to the decree. The funds to be received from the sale of Boeing 737-300 planes will be deducted from the cost of Boeing 737-800 planes that are planned to be bought, according to the first deal.

"This will enable to modernize the aircraft fleet, improve the quality of services for passengers, and ensure the safety of flights," the president's decree said.

During the meeting of the country's Cabinet of Ministers, Turkmen president emphasized the increasing role of air service both within the country and in the international transport routes, Turkmen Dovlet Khabarlary (TDK) state news service reported on April 18.

The U.S. Boeing company delivered the first 777-200LR plane to Turkmenistan Airlines in late March.

Turkmenistan's partnership with Boeing began in 1992. Turkmenistan Airlines actively uses Boeing airliners for international and domestic flights and puts the obsolete Soviet planes on a sell-out.

Currently, Turkmenistan Airlines is connected by air bridge with Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Great Britain, Turkey, UAE, Germany, Thailand, China, India and others.
