Astana, Kazakhstan, April 25

By Daniyar Mukhtarov - Trend:

The work on attracting foreign investments in the country is not carried at the due level, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev said on April 25 at the meeting on the development of Astana.

"Around 1.4 billion tenge (0.2 percent) out of the total volume of investments in the amount of 540 billion tenge [182.01 tenge = $1], fell to foreign investments in 2013," the president said.

Great interest is shown in Astana, in other words, sufficient number of foreigners visit this city, according to Nazarbayev. Additionally, an Investor Service Center has been created in the country.

"Nevertheless, the amount of attracted investments is not sufficient. Many want to make investments, but face a lot of obstacles. I have instructed one governor in each province to work on improving this sphere. Deputy Mayor Kanat Sultanbekov is responsible for this issue in Astana," Nazarbayev said.

Sultanbekov, for his part said that the Astana City Hall held meetings in 2014 and in pervious years and on the results of these meetings, there were taken measures to shorten the time for providing documents.

"All this must affect the improvement of the work," the deputy mayor said.
